Yangon – Dalla – Twante – Yangon
[Day Tour]
This day tour takes you to rural communities outside Yangon to discover their countryside lifestyle, to support small enterprises and to see how they creatively recycle products.
The tour begins about 08:30 hrs.
Your guide will meet your party at the Pansodan Pier, in downtown Yangon. Take the public ferry boat to Dalla; a small township located on Yangon River’s opposite bank. You will mix with the crowd who commutes daily to work in Yangon. On arrival in Dalla, start your visit by trishaw and see the Shwe Sar Yan Pagoda, a fishing village, a spring roll making small business and a candle making manufacture.
Pay a visit to the local workshop “Chu Chu”, a community-based artisan workshop that produces recycled products made of waste plastic bags. Then, visit to a charity school.
After these inspirational visits, ride a car to the Mingalar Bio Garden in Kyaikthalae Village at Twante (-30 minutes). Upon arrival at Kyaikthalae village, you will receive a warm welcome at the community lodge. A talk will be delivered by the community leader to explain about the village and details of their eco project. You will then pay a visit to a few village homes and local workshops specialized in bamboo basket weaving and sewing. In addition, you will learn how to make natural fertilizer and the challenges of crops cultivation and poultry farming.
Lunch is hosted by the village’s ladies.
In the afternoon, visit some pottery making cottages, the Shwe Sandaw Pagoda and its high stupa (76m) and the Paundawgyoke Snake Pagoda where nuns take care of 30 or so Burmese pythons and boas in the middle of a lake.
Return to Yangon in the evening by car (-1hr30).
The tour ends around 17:30 hrs
