This PaO tribal community involved tour, is intended for active travelers interested in “off-the-beaten- track” experiences with a focus on tribal life, outside cities and can be incorporated into any classic Myanmar tour. Hiking to the hills around Inle Lake, discover three diverse ethnic groups (Shan, Pa-O and Intha) with their own distinct cultures, costumes and ways of life.

Trekking to Pa-o Tribal CBT villages [ 4 Days/ 3 Nights ]
Day 01 : Nyaung Shwe/ Inle - Magyigone Village - Hti Ne Village

Early morning, your guide will pick you up at hotel and provide information about the itinerary and order of the day. Transfer by boat to Magyigone Village, on the eastern side of Inle Lake, and start walking first through a beautiful forest of teak trees and then, hike through rice fields, following the little walls between individual fields. Arrive at the Pa-O village of Moe Kaung where you will have lunch. After having rested a moment, continue to Hti Ne village where you will stay overnight, at the community house.

Walking Hours : 4:30 hrs (approximate)
Trek conditions : 80% flat, 0% down and 20% up

Day 02 : Hti Ne Village - Tootan Village

After a hearty breakfast, walk through Hti Ne village and, as you leave the village, see local ladies weaving colorful cotton and sewing traditional Shan shoulder bags and various pieces of clothing. Trek up the mountain to Humbwar village for lunch and a rest. After lunch, continue to Tootan village by walking along the valley. Lacquer and medicinal plants can be observed along the trail. We will spend the night at the house of a local family at Tootan village.

Walking Hours : 5:30 hrs (approximate)
Trek conditions : 40% flat, 35% down and 25% up

Day 03 : Tootan Village - Hti Wa Mu Village

After a good night of sleep and breakfast, leave at 8:30 AM to continue your trekking, passing through Hti Wa Mu village. At the peak of Yan Aung Mountain range (1980 m above sea-level), you will enjoy a packed picnic lunch. Take a well-deserved break and enjoy the panoramic view. Then start the walk down to Inne (CBT project village) where you will spend the night in the community house. For those interested, you will have an opportunity to dress in traditional Pa-O attire during your stay. After dinner, the villagers will entertain by playing their traditional musical instruments and dances.

Trek conditions : 35% flat, 25% down and 40% up

Day 04 : Loi Hkaw Village - Nyaung Shwe or Inle Lake by Tuk Tuk

After breakfast, leave to Loi Hkaw (CBT project village) by passing through Pongtel village. Lunch will be served at the Loi Hkaw community building. After lunch, walk down to the Red Mountain vineyard to explore how Myanmar wine is produced and, obviously have a glass or two. Then a Tuk Tuk will take you back to Inle Lake and transfer to your hotel.

Trek conditions : 45% flat, 45% down and 10% up
